MDC performs a multibeam and geophysical survey of SAPREF’s two pipelines connecting the SBM south of Durban to the SAPREF refinery on-shore, South Africa.. MDC performed a high resolution geophysical survey to determine the condition of the SAPREF pipeline on board the Superlite II.

MDC provides offshore manager and data processing services to MMT for the hydrographic, magnetometer and Van Veen grab survey of the Off Skerries-TSS (MCA), Angelsay-N Wales. On 1 – 3 August 2013 MDC performed a high resolution Multibeam survey for Cape Diving. The purpose of this survey was to verify seabed heights and sediment thicknesses alongside A-Berth for the Scarabeo-7 thruster replacements.

MDC provides offshore manager and processing services to MMT on board the SV Seabeam for the geophysical, bathymetric and Benthic Survey of the additional Shallow Water Survey, UK (North Sea Network, Stattnett National Grid). MDC provided offshore manager and data processing services to MMT for the southern-most UK landfalls near Blyth, England.

On 3 – 24 April 2013 MDC provided offshore manager services to MMT for the hydrographic multibeam (EM2040 DH) survey for MCA on board the VS Oceanstar.

On 6 – 20 February 2013 MDC provided offshore multibeam (EM2040 DH) and sub-bottom (TOPAS) data processing and QC/QA services to MMT for their hydrographic survey of the Baltic (SMA). Software used included TOPAS, QINSy, CARIS, POSPAC and Fledermaus.

On 9, 17 Nov MDC performed a high resolution Multibeam survey for Cape Diving. The purpose of this survey was to validate a clearance route for drill ship dry docking in Sturrock Dry Dock, Cape Town.

MDC provides Fledermaus Professional training to Council for Geoscience’s Marine Geoscience unit

MDC provided 3 days Fledermaus Professional training to the Marine Geoscience Unit survey staff. During these three days the Council’s staff were brought up to speed on most current features within the Fledermaus Pro software suite and taken through a hydrographic data processing flow using Client-supplied multibeam data.

MDC sells Geosuite All Works seismic post-processing and interpretation software to Namdeb and De Beers Marine South Africa

MDC is pleased to sell and support Geo Marine Survey Systems Geosuite to Namdeb (3x licenses) and De Beers Marine South Africa (1x license) for seismic post-processing and interpretation of their high-resolution seismic datasets.

MDC performs hydrographic bathymetry post-processing of EMU’s Poolbay Block 16 multibeam data

EMU provided MDC QINSy multibeam data for office-based processing at the MDC office in Cape Town. Data were processed to Order 1a IHO standards using QINSy, QLOUD, Fledermaus and POSPAC.

MDC installs and commissions QINSy 3D Drill string positioning system on the Debmarine Namibia alluvial diamond mining vessel

MV Grand Banks MDC fitted its fourth QINSy 3D Drill string positioning system on the MV Grand Banks in Sturrock dry dock, Cape Town. The system provides accurate drill string positioning to the mining staff on board and assists resource managers in assessing mining efficiencies and grade evaluations.

MDC performs multibeam and shallow seismic survey of Saldanha Multipurpose Terminal for Cape Diving (PTY) Ltd

On 18 – 20 April MDC performed a high resolution multibeam and shallow seismic survey for Cape Diving. The purpose of this survey was to investigate the suitability of proposed Jack up Rig berthing sites in Saldanha Bay, Cape Town.

MDC is awarded a 3-Year support contract to supply and deliver offshore positioning services on board Debmarine Namibia drill ships

On 29 February 2012 MDC was pleased to be awarded a 3-year support contract to provide survey positioning services to its expanding alluvial drill ship fleet. The award of this contract ensures seamless onsite and offsite support by MDC survey staff of these alluvial diamond mining vessels.
